About Us
Tacoma Education Dream Fund directly supports the Tacoma Public School District as their funding partner and dream collaborator.
The Tacoma School District has been granted funds to support students and educators during the pandemic and to provide a more equitable experience between schools. Much of this funding supports Beyond the Bell and Club B a comprehensive program providing after school activities at all of Tacoma’s elementary and middle schools. However, this funding is not permanent. The Tacoma Dream Fund has taken on the challenge to replace the funding with home grown donations from our community. In addition, the Dream Fund will fund specific requests from individual students and educators to support the pursuit of their dreams.
Our Board
Sue Elkin
Sue Elkin is a dedicated nonprofit leader and strategic consultant, known for fostering partnerships that support communities and youth empowerment. As CEO of the Tacoma Education Dream Fund, she is foscused on providing Tacoma students with opportunities for success. Previously, Sue led transformative programs as executive director of the Homeownership Center Northwest and consulted for key nonprofits, including Communities in Schools. Recognized for her board expertise, Sue founded ASAP Training Inc. and The Hard Hat Advisory, bringing a collaborative, grace-focused approach to her work. Her accolades include the MetLife Award for youth development and the Master Builders Association 2021 Recruiter of the Year.
